Default Mossberg MVP Mag question

Any MVP fans here? Well I've been trying to modify a 20 round pmag to fit and I finally gave up and sold the mag. I've been looking at the M3 pmags and magpul claims they are compatible with a wider variety of firearms. Has anyone tried a M3 pmag 20 or 10 rounder in a MVP? I don't want to waste money if it isn't going to fit ya know?

The Magpuls work in the MVPs.

I was told to buy the older type of mags for the mvp. Was told that the metal mags work better. I will find out for sure this weekend when my sister brings hers down to shoot. She just got the preditor model and I'm sure her husband bought some extra Pmags to go with it. I'll let you know next weekend how they worked on hers

Steel mags worked for me as well. Granted they may vary in quality and the little details. If one steel mag fails, another may do fine. The MVP may be more finicky about the mags because its bolt rides above the top round and strips it with the special steel lip attached to the bolt face.

Mine absolutely hated the old ones. I even tried the "mod" of removing some excess material but to no avail. Seemed to lock up fine but first round out the mag would fall out.

Just got back from shooting my sisters Mossberg Mvp, she has the predator model. That thing was a blast to shoot and a very pretty gun. We tried different magazines on it and only one it didn't care for and that was a metal pmag. Course I have 3 all exactly the same but one of the 3 for some reason it just didn't like it. Everyone out there tried their own mags on it because we mostly were shooting AR 15s and it took all theirs. So I wouldn't worry to much about the pmags. If it doesnt like it trade off with some who has one it shoots. Love that gun
