So I was thinking of this; the whole drilled and tap bit seems risky and costs more.
For about 100$ or so, what would be good for scout mounting it? The default ironsights aren't bad, but a scope is just plain better.

If I remember correctly you can pop the rear sight off and mount a pistol scope or paralax free optic on it. I think there are videos on YouTube.

Plug Mosin Scope into YouTube and you will get a lot of how to videos. I have been trying the scout set up on a Mini and so far I like it.
