Local forums, national forums, retail outlets, etc.

I picked one up for my brother for $125. Cabelas regularly has 91/30's for $99 and m44 for 125. I (I) would not pay $200.

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?

I couldn't resist I picked it up.

The store wanted $230 for 880 rounds but I don't want to wait that long. Did find this site for ammo

FMJ AMMO : Ammunition To Go

I might have over paid for the rifle but it is a piece of history and if I like it like I think I will there is a 91-30 in my futrue

What is stamped on the receive dictate price. If it is stamped 02, it would be Hungarian, worth $200.00. Receiver pic please.

I am thinking about refinishing the wood on the rifle.

The color is fading a bit from normal handling and just thought it would look nicer if I even it up. But don't want to kill the historical value

Nice M44...is it a hardwood stock or laminate? Be careful refinishing the laminate...

Way too much for the ammo...440 round cans go for about $80...

Looks good.

Might I suggest some boiled linseed oil (hand rubbed) for your stock.
Along with tung oil, linseed oil is a traditional stock treatment.

I also suggest firing your rifle near sundown occasionally in order the witness the massive fireball emanating from the muzzle...good times!
