Default More on the .45-70

I have a Marlin 1895CB .45-70, will a .45-70 also shoot a .45 Colt?

Jeez!

Not just '"no," but "HELL NO!"

Bullet dia. on 45/70 Govt. is .458" Bullet dia. on 45 Colt is .452". Without getting the data manual, I expect the brass on 45/70 is much larger diameter at the base.

If you're hell bent on shooting .45colt,get a .45 colt chambered Marlin 1894 cowboy series, or an Puma so chambered. You CAN shoot .45colt interchangably from an Puma chambered in .454 Casull however.
