THAT ^ friends is a ringing endorsement if EVER there was one. I can't tell you how many times Tango and I have had this discussion.

Very nice. Can we hit the range if I'm ever up in that neck of the woods?

Just get out of Kali and I will take care of the rest. I got a couple of "other" projects you might like to see hidden away in the back of the safe too.

I have not heard any reviews on the new model 70's besides from magazines. I would like to know how the joe six packs like them. I shoot a pre-64 30-06 and thinking about selling the new ones but need to hear if people like them or not.

Just do as I do and buy 1 or 2 to test out so you'll have actual 1st hand knowledge. Sure it's expensive but that way I can know what I'm talking about when asked about something.

Yeah, I might as well. I usually do that with most of my other guns. Thats what sucks about this business. So many cool guns go through your hands its really tempting to keep them for yourself!

I was tempted to get the new Win Mdl 70 I looked at but I have 270 Win , 7 MM Rem Mag, 308 Win, 30-06 , 308 Norma Mag, and 340 W Mag caliber rifles. At 73 years old Im slowing down on the firearm purchases. I ll get along with what I got untill have all my stuff auctioned off.

Default the riflemans rifle

the pre 64 model 70 winchester is the rifle all others aspire to be. to say it is similar to a pre 64 is a testament to its quality.unfortunatly most post 60's rifle are built as cheaply and as quickly as possible with stamped ,alloy or plastic parts.most new rifle require @30 machining operations to make the rifle. the pre 64 took 91 to make the reciever alone. they were built one at a time all machined from steel one piece at a time. the bolt and handle were machined from one piece of metal.the bolt handle was not welded or bolted on as most new rifles.the new model 70's are good but nothing near a pre 64.
