Default Military rifle identification/help

My dad was at his friends house the other day and his friend showed him an old military rifle. I have no idea what it looks like or what it is called alls i know is that it "looks like my mosin nagant and has a magazine that comes out of the botton and has a blond wooden stock". Now all this came from my dad who was probly slightly drunk. He said his friend had paid $300. I would like some ideas as to what it could be. Thanks in advance, Luke

The possibilities are endless.

Say, my son was telling me about a car. It was blue, and it had tailfins on the back. Any idea what is was? He said the owner had paid $3,000 for it.

Your description covers a multitude of firearms. A LARGE number of possible candidates.

Pictures! Or at least some measurements, a list of markings and the bore size.

C3 is right. Based on your description it could be one of many.

SO---"looks like a Mosin Nagant", "magazine out the bottom"
"blond stock"

I'll start the list.

Carcano
Steyr 95
Dutch "Hembrug" 1895 Mannlicher

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

No. That would be if it was red. I'm pretty sure it was a 58 Chrysler.

Luke- sincere apologies- sometime I pul someone's leg, and it comes off.

I probably have a dozen different rifles in the safes that would match the description you gave- there is just no way to match that up to a single rifle- we could only offer up the "list of usual suspects". A Swiss K-31 and a British SMLE can both have blond stocks and a bottom mag- but so does an SKS.
