Default Marlin was Sold to Remington ? When ??

I just went to go buy a 22 rifle today and drove down to Delaware to get one.
When I asked if the guy had any Marlins he told me that they were sold to Remington, and good luck trying to get one ! They're not even making them right now. Has anyone else heard this ?? If this is true we might be losing one of the greatest rifle makers of all time ! Man what next ? The only real, affordable, quality rifle maker now gone. I hope Remington doesn't change anything and keep the brand !

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

That's kind of like Porter-Cable and Delta power tools being sold to Black and Decker..
Made me mad as fire.
