Default Marlin MR-7

Hey guys, like the title says, I have a Marlin MR-7 thats chambered in .270. I am looking for an aftermarket stock for it, preferably synthetic to help lighten it up. I am having a heck of a time trying to find one. The only luck I've found is replacement walnut stocks. I know that my rifle is kinda rare (only made from '96-'99). Would it be possible to modify a Remington M700 or a Winchester M70 stock? I know they are pretty similar weapons. Thanks in advance for any help!!

That's the only other thing that I can come up with without some serious internet searching.

That would work great for my marlin .22. Not so much for the .270. Thanks for the links though, I appreciate it. I'll keep up my search and let you know if I come across anything.

Sorry, I wasn't paying much attention to what Google was sending me.

well, i've pretty much given up on finding a synthetic stock. but i have found a company that i can get a replacement walnut stock from. its numrich gun parts, at www.e-gunparts.com. I was thinking of getting another wood stock that i could keep in good condition so i wouldn't have to worry about beating the one i have. does anyone have any experience with this company?

I have done some business with Numrich. They seem OK for a bunch of Yankees sitting on an island. JK. I have sold some gun parts through them. They have a pretty neat system. You send the parts and they send you a check. If you cash the check, they bought them. If you don't like the amount, send the check back they send you back your parts, postage paid. No hassles, no bravo sierra. For out of date stuff, they are the only real show in town.

Default MR-7 stock

I'm currently building a custom rifle on the MR-7 action. It's very similar to the Mdl 70 winchester in that the trigger guard screws have the same spacing. Difference is the MR-7 has two screws (front and rear) opposed to the Mdl 70 having three. The major difference is that the recoil lug on the MR-7 is way more forward on the action versus the Winchester. I've sent an email to MPI stocks in Portland Oregon to see if it's possible for them to do something for the MR-7. There stocks are as good or better than HS-Precision, McMillian, and the likes. You gun should be in the $450-$500 range. There is one in my local gun shop in 30.06 for $475.00. I paid $200 for mine with Leupold rings and mounts included. I'm building a 6mm-284 on it right now.
