I really like Tru-Oil. It looks great, nice work.

I have 336 in 30-30 and it recoils approx like a 12 ga. Was surprised to hear the 35 Rem - kills at both ends. What load is he using ? My 35 Rem pump is similar in recoil to the 30-30 while throwing heavier rounds.(200 gr.)

The 35 Rem is an under appreciated round and quite simply, more effective than the 30-30. (Big fan of 35 Wheelen.)

I have found the opposite. I was pleasantly surprised at how light the recoil was on the 30-30. Especially compared to my 12 GA. I have no experience with the 35 Rem but have heard good things. I shot Federal blue box 150 grain and Remington Core-lokt 150 grain.

Each has their proponents but the .35 Rem creates a 20% larger wound channel prior to expansion than the 30 cal.

Just not enough case capacity to push 250 gr rounds where the 35 really shines. The 35 Wheelen has no trouble w 250 gr but it also has the recoil to match.

Yet, for light, quick handling lever rifles the 30-30 may be legendary but the 35 Rem has its following and I would argue - is a better all around North American game rifle - IMHO...

Yea I bought a brand new one in 35 caliber. Fell in love with gun. Went out and bought a 150 scope for it, put on that night. The next day went and zero the scope in because dear season was the following day. Got up and got everything ready to go hunting. Went to grab my gun and I'll be damn if somebody didn't steal my gun while I was at the grocery store getting food for deer camp. Talk about being pissed off

Should be a hanging offense.

Yep I was pretty upset. What I remember about that rifle was the kick it had. It kicked alot harder than my friends 30-30.
