Thank you!
At my age I like being called a boy!
The 30-30 sure does a better job than any 243 could!

Two questions

1. Should the trigger move freely forward from the break point

2. Where can I get a cheap stock set.

The trigger will have some free play.

What's wrong with that stock?

Hard wood has it's name for a reason. Just don't do anything stupid like shoot off a metal bar with no padding or put a sling on that will scratch it up like a cat in heat and you'll be fine. Any minor scratches can be buffed out with a bit of elbow grease. Fine wood is meant to be enjoyed, don't box it up!

Great deal for $300. My 336 30-30 is one of my favorite shooters. Although the only thing I hunt is paper, steel and clays, I will be adding some pistol caliber levers to my collection.

If you wanted an inexpensive stock you could probably find a used set on e bay or gun broker.

My 336 (the one that shoots MOA) wears Ramline syn stocks!
