I recently put a Bushnell Trophy XLT 1-4X24--4A reticle with red dot on my AR. It would make a great scope for a 336. $185 shipped by Academy. I had a 336T in 35 Rem a long time ago. It looked very much like the picture posted by lilrichthedragon.

well, i'm late, but i'll join in. i have a newer malin 336 SS, and it is an absolute beauty of a firearm. overall, maybe my favorite gun.

i also installed a skinner peep sight (the tactical). it was a bit of a pita to get on (process of fitting and replacing front sight also), but i like it much better than the orginal buckhorns. here's a profile of the sight.
