Default Marlin 336 30-30 for $300, should I?

I've found a Marlin 336 in 30-30 for $300, out the door, I might be able to talk them down to $275. If someone hadn't told me it was used I would have thought it was new. There are no marks on it at all, anywhere...action included. It is one of the cleanest used guns I have ever seen! It's an older one, it doesn't have a safety of any kind but what double action needs one? I know the 336 is a good gun I just wanted a second opinion...

Default 336

Ive got an older one and its the one gun Ill never get rid of, 300.00 is not the cheapest price Ive heard of but its not bad if its in the shape you say its in. Id go for it. Mine shoots straighter than I do. Good luck and grab it if you like it,

Even though it's a Marlin... go ahead and get it. No one can ever have too many leverguns....

Default Marlin 30/s

I'm a novice who bought a Marlin 30s today. It lacks a scope and I would like to know which to get for $100 or so. Help appreciated.

Is is it a 336W or 336C. If it's a 336C, buy it now.

Thanks for the advice guys. I decided to buy it after work on Tuesday and got laid off that morning. I went by there today just to shoot the breeze and they've sold it so I can't get it anyway.

For about 100$, the best you're going to get would be a quality fixed 4x scope such as Nikon, Weaver, or Pentax. If you need more than 4x when actually hunting, you're too far away to be shooting at that deer with a 30-30 in the 1st place. Don't make the mistake of trading optical quality for more magnification.
