It is a great deal, and you will not lose money on it. The Polys use forged receivers and are excellent.

The ammo alone is worth $.50-$.65 per rd (Unless it is 90's vint OFV), and decent 20rd mags sell for $25 and up. Hmm...

Sounds to me like you may be getting a free rifle tossed in if you buy the mags and ammo for $800.

Can you have it checked out before you commit? If so, do it, then buy it. If not, just buy it.

Another way to look at it..........
Price check for 1000rds of 30-06 for the M1. Price a few enbloc clips. The M1 itself is at $600.00. ( Both rifles are only expensive clubs without ammo)

Yup....... a no-brainer. The poly M14 appears to be the better deal.

i paid a little over 800.00bucks for a polytech from a pawnshop a couple months back and found that it had a few slight make overs...stock,sights,bolt,recoil spring,flash hider...if thats a S.A. m1a...jump all over that...if not...tell me where its at...i'll sell some blood and kick around some bushes.i'd say try to work something out and get both of them...

I guess I'm pretty dumb but how do you figure a Garand is automatically going to be more accurate than a M1A? Also PLEASE don't waste your breath attempting to claim the M2 ball ammo in the Garand is so much more powerful than the 7.62x51. Get real-there just ain't much difference.
