My answer is M-Pro 7 Gun Oil LPX. It is a very high quality synthetic with additives.
Where grease is recommended, use Hoppe's #9 Gun Grease.
In a pinch, you can go to any auto parts store and buy a can of white lithium grease. It will work fine and will not wear off.
Wipe down the outside of the gun with a silicone pad.
