bigdaddy573, I am thinking of painting the stock on my rifle. What is the best type of paint to use?
I can't think of the name of the paint I used but it's a camouflage series then I used 5 or 6 coats of clear coat to protect it. But to warn u don't use tape to make the strips and to break every thing up take brown or black and do a mist over it

One thing i forgot to say is it makes it easier when u take your gun completely apart and hang everything from something so u get a even coat on every thing

To start with I am going to paint only the stock, not the barrel and action. I was thinking of using epoxy paint if it is available in aerosol form. Epoxy paint is very durable. If not I know of a guy who does auto painting that would spray it for me.

I see you have a nice scope. For now I have a regular Bushnell hunting scope. It has worked pretty well so far. I would like to get a nice tactical scope later.

I do like the scope. Its a Barska swat tactical 6-24x44 illuminated mil-dot, it "seems" well built and heavy duty, but its a barska so I wouldnt read much into that! Its more of a budget scope to get me by till I have the money for something more high end like a nightforce.

I guess my Bushnell 6-18x50 is a budget scope also. It actually works great for target shooting, which is all I do these days. Between the scope and heavy barrel my rifle is pretty front heavy and kind of hard to hold steady without a rest but it sure shoots good. I think I will buy a nice bipod for it next. Do any of you have recommendations for a bipod?

It's not a Harris, but then again I'm not deploying with it either. For what most of us use it for, this is nice.
