Looking to purchase my first AR=15, any help?

I am looking to buy an AR15 i have done my homework and went to places to price things out; however, i am having a rough time on picking a particular one. something that wont break the bank in a .223/5.56 NATO. I plan on customizing it and getting assesories (of course) what base model would be good?

Whats your price range?

What do you want on it?

I myself would look hard at the RRA Entry Operator Or Elite Operator. They are offing a free rear sight with the purchas right now.

Rock River Arms: NEW! RRA LAR-15 Entry Operator2

If you don't mind ordering online and having it shipped to a local dealer you can get a great price on RRA through AR15Sales Rock River Arms Products I ordered my RRA through Pete just be forewarned he is a little gruff, but if you have an AR question he has the answer. Just have them lined out when you call.

If you are going to be changing the rifle with accessories, why not just build it from scratch? Will eventually cost less and will give you exactly everything you want.

More than enough knowledge here about building one. Just ask in the AR15 forum. Anything you want to know, I am 100% sure you will find the answer.

i will most likely get a bit of backlash from this, but here goes...I have owned a couple of Double Star ARs and they are accurate and reliable. I have never had an issue of any kind out of any of the DS rifles I have owned. And they are really well priced as far as that goes. I would not hesitate to tell anyone that they should get one. I think you can still order them from Buds online for $649.99. That is the M4 cut barrel and a adjustable stock and two mags I think. Plus they are made in the great state of Kentucky so it is really hard for me to buy anything else.
