I would recomend a m40a1 from mcmillian.com with federal premium match grade ammo.
Great rifle, as long as you don't have to carry it up any mountains.

And BTW, match ammo is a poor choice for huntng. The bullets are constructed for accurcy, not terminal performance.

I have a Winchester Model 70 chambered in 7mm WinMag with a Leupold VX-2. Got some recoil to her but shoots great and does some damage.

How far are you planeing on shooting animals at. I have made heart shots on deer at just shy of 400 yards and shoot them at the bottom of my tree stand at 20 feet all with just a 3.8-12 scope on a 7mm rm. Hunting game much beyound 450 yards you better be very good at judgeing range and wind or you can miss or make a very bad shot instead of a kill shot. It way easier to punch paper at 800 yards than guess a deer in the field . You can also by 6- power scope now. Get a 2-12 or 3-18 power scope now.

well i want a riffle that i can take places to shoot different ranges 200 to 400 is a reasonable range for any animal. but i would like to shoot farther just to say i can do it. I want a semi auto over the bolt so i can have a faster fallow up shot. especially since i have a hard time finding a bolt action that i can work in multiple positions being left handed. i am looking for a higher caliber round. but not a 50 cal because i dont have the money to shoot the max distance of that round. let alone a place. i really want to be able to break 1000 yds. So really is there a rifle i can get to shoot 1000 yds accurately and still ve a good hunting riffle or should i just get two?

.338 wld be the thing for 1000 or little more the next up for that wld be a 50. Now i think Barrett was working on a new cailber. 416 or something like that to reduce having to carry a 50 if you dont want but still get the same range a 50. Only thing i dont think the 338 comes in semi. I have only been able to find in bolt action plus if you dont reload rounds can get expensive and not sure if what Barrett is working will be something the pubkic can get our hands on. The 308 your looking at max of 800 yd depending om load. That is why I went with the FNAR cause it is light enough to use to close quarters and has power to reach out. Now if you have the money or I shld say willing to spend you cld always get a custom rifle built.

Look at the Savage bolt can't remember the model. Get it in 284x6.5 Norma. This gun went up against a Stier which cost 4x more and made an excellent showing. If you can afford it get the Stier

Sounds to me like a AR chambered in 308 would suit your needs.

Remington 700 ... My AAC SD 700 was shooting sub MOA out of the box. 700s are like the AR of bolt guns. Tons of stuff you can do to em.

One: .338 can tack out to 2k plus. Two: they make a .338 ar10 called the bad news irene. Three: .308 can reach out to 1500 yds+

Carlos Hathcock used a Winchester Model 70 in 30-06. Just saying.
