Those are the only markings on both. I have not taken the barrel off to see if there is any underneath the barrel. A friend told me he would try to take the barrel off and see if there is anything under it. When you flip the sight up there is no markings there. When you open up the spot in front of the trigger and take the spring out there is no markings there either. Its really throwing me off that i can't find any markings anywhere on both of these guns.

They both look like small ring Mausers, but the lack of markings is strange.

Ill try to take some more. I am struggling to achieve good photos. Let me see what i can do.

If they were small ring mauser's what would they be chambered in? Just for curiosity. I plan to have my gun smith look over both rifles to possibly achieve more information as well.

Most likely is 7x57 (7mm Mauser), AKA the "Spanish Hornet".

A chamber casting will tell you for sure.

Just take a series of relative close ups. The un-sporterized rifle looks like a Spanish 1916, but I want to be sure. It COULD be orig 7x57, or a re-barrel to 7.62x51. No way to tell by the pics, though.
