Looking for first bolt gun

So ive got the itch for a bolt gun.
My requirements are:
Smooth bolt
Light trigger
Detachable magazine
As for accuracy im looking to reach out max of 3-400 yard's. I would like to group 1-2 inches at 200 yard's i feel that is attainable.
Im pretty dead set on .308 but open to others
The guns i think ive narrowed it down too are the:
Rugar gunsight
Rem 700 what model is detachable mag?

I'm pretty sure to have a detachable magazine on a 700 if depends on what stock you get but I'm not 100%. I'm sure someone with more smarts than me will come around here soon...

Hmm well minus the mag, i picked up last year a 1917 winchester 30.06 for $280 otd. Perfect wood bolt action trigger ect, a tank! Couldnt beat the price for the condition its in. Food for thought if the money becomes a trouble, i love love love this gun.

pretty sure you could get all your wants and desires with a Remington M700. they dohave versionswith a DM. the triggers are adjustable and the bolts are pretty smooth. just need to decide on a caliber and go shopping. the ranges and level of accuracy you would to attain, you have many choices in calibers.

now another option would be the Marlin X7 series of rifles. the only thing they don't have on your list is the DM. but they are very accurate, very well made and have adjustable triggers, pillar bedded stocks and very smooth acting fluted bolts. they are very decently priced and would leave a larger amount available for a really nice scope.

i have three of them and will put them up against my M700's or my M77's anyday as far as function and accuracy.

I haven't owned a Remington 700 for many years, but as I recall, back then the fancier BDL version had a trapdoor magazine, not a detachable mag. Do they have a DM model now?

My ADL had a very slick bolt and a fine trigger. I loved it.

With the requirements you've listed, take a look at a Tikka T3. They are one of the smoothest bolt's out there, have an adjustable trigger, and a detachable mag.
T/C Icon is another fine rifle.

You didn't state what type of barrel your wanting, Sporter/Varmint contour.
If your wanting a Varmint contour,Savage and Remington offer several models that have what you want.
Personally,I've never cared for any Ruger bolt action rifle.
