Because it IS such a good deal, have you thought about just buying the
300WM and using it for long-distance bench shooting.....then getting something else for your hunting?

Default Don't also forget...

Don't forget to look for the deer and pigs also. If you need a hunting buddy I am here in San Jose.

Like others have said the .300wm is overkill for deer.... but oh well...
If the rifle is as acurate as you stated I would be all over it. There are ways to tame the recoil, using lighter 125 - 130g bullets will help. Seriously though take a look at the Knoxx recoil stocks. I have a .338wm with a Knoxx recoil stock. All kinds of ****z happen when you touch off that trigger, but it dont hurt at all.

IMHO everyone should own at least one 300 Win mag during their short lifetime. I had a Browning A Bolt with the Boss in 300 Win mag and took a bear with it in 2001. That freak'n bear was dead before it hit the ground. The 300 Win mag is one heck of a great round.

I sold the gun to a buddy of mine as a long distance shooter and he's as happy as a pig in do do with it.

I just love shooting those big bores, kind of a reality check in an odd way. By the way, if the rifle and scopes in good shape I believe it's a very fine deal. Good luck, Joe
