I am thrilled at what I found at a garage sale today!! I don’t normally go to garage sales, but I was driving past one today, looked over and something caught my eye. I pulled over and walked back. There were at least twenty people milling around. I walked up and sure enough leaning against a tree was rifle. I recognized it right away. It was a dummy training rifle. I walked up like I was not interested
picked it up and almost fell over for it as a Navy Mark I Parris Dunn 1942 training rifle fully complete with everything, working peep site, working trigger that clicks, sling everything was attached and in wonderful condition.Had a price tag of $40. I did not try to bargain; I whipped out two 20 dollar bills and was gone. I got it home and the more I looked at it the more excited I got. This is one of the rare ones with working trigger, Navy mark I butt plate, metal middle barrel band and forward metal barrel band. Plus the condition is outstanding. See photos. Once I get it cleaned up it will look even better. What a great day and a great item for my gun collection. Anyone else have one??
