My 7mm idea is a full length 378 weatherby necked down to 7mm, but without that double radius and the absence of an elongated throat. 28-30 degree shoulder. I'm partial to the 7mm bore.

It sounds like a fun challenge. My idea at the moment is something along the lines of a 7 mm mag necked down to 5.56 or maybe 6 mm. If i can get that to work ill step it up to a 338 win mag to 22-250.

The 7 Rem mag necked down to 6 with some vlds and a bunch of reloaded 22 or retumbo sounds like fun.

Im gonna be buildin a long range varmint gun since im tired of using my warbird on the sneaky coyotes at the farm i work on. The suckers sit out at 450-650 at the edge of the field then run when the see my truck or the tractor i use. If it wasnt for that longer end of that id use my 243. Iv shot em that far w my DD but they run a LONG ways afterwards. Plus i go out west and love to blow prairie rats all to hell. I like the punch and power afforded by the 7 mag casin. Plus i have a bunch of fmj 223 and 6mm bullets. Put it in a boyds stock, timney two stage trigger, kreiger 24" barrel, and a m98 mag action i think itd work well for the pesky varmints.
