Now back to our regular programing

In Nascar, all cars are pretty much equal, built and operated within the rules. It is the same with most all sports. Shooting is no different. You are not going to bring a .338 to a .243 event.

For me, speaking only for myself, I am quite satisfied shooting traditional cartridges found in box stores. Some of them, are quite good at placing close groups in paper targets. The medium distance round I have chosen is the .308. I used to shoot 30-06. Also a good round. Sold my M1 Grand a number of years ago. I am quite pleased with my LR-308 I picked up a year ago. Sweet, fun gun to shoot. Does not take your arm off, does not empty the bank account (if you can find ammo for sale) loading the clip.

I have not shot any of the sniper exclusive stuff, but it would be fun to get a round off.

So you know the Undetermined Australian sniper of the Australian 2nd Commando Regiment in Afghanistan using a M82A1 .50BMG in 2012 who killed at At 2,815m (3,079yd)? I doubt that very much.

Plus, 2.1 kilometres isn't much of a record. 2.5 kilometres or 2.8 kilometres is a record.

Must be an unconfirmed account because last I looked it was Furlong (2.5km), Harrison (2.5km) and then the Aussie (2.8km).

He got the confirmed ... He's also got 11 sworn statements and an ARCOM for it. He's just not a glory hound.

and I didn't say longest ... I said longest on that weapons system. It is the longest shot of any American in the Afghanistan war though.
