I still have several of my first guns. They were bought at Western Auto-White Auto- Sears and Roebuck-Montgomery Wards.
Winchester,Stevens,Mossberg,J.C. Higgins and others produced rifles/shotguns under the stores own brand names.
Those were the good ole days.Try walking into a hardware store or dry goods store and buying firearms or ammo today. All you'd get is a funny look by the dumbass behind the computer at the counter.

Hossfly,I believe both of those guns were produced by Winchester.
The shotgun is a model 1300
The rimfire is a model 250 or a Marlin 57.The buttstock makes me think Marlin.

A little town by me has two hardware stores. One has a limited ammo supply, the other started selling guns and is doing great.

BTW, I still got my marlin .22 bolt gun that my old man gave to me for my birthday when I was still waiting for hair to start growing. It came from a western auto. And I'm not over the hill, yet.
