I'm just glad that there are so many different long and short guns made. It's my biggest excuse to get more

Lever...Bolt..They both have their place. Those wimpy Marlin and Winchester 30-30 lever rifles have taken more deer than about anything else. Maybe a few combined. But a bolt action will reach out and touch someone. It all depends on what you want to do and how you want to get there. AS long as it brings home the bacon or whatever meat is sounding tasty at the time I"m happy with either.I do really love my 94 Winchester though. It's like an old friend in my hands. Been that way since it was first handed to me. The last rifle I bought was an old Marlin 783 and it's nothing short of a 22 mag beast. Dang, all this talk is making me want to go shooting!

Well, I think you're right on the trophy wife part--at least that's what I tell her she is and how lucky I feel...
