Default Lee Enfield No.1 MkIII

Picked up an enfield smle last week that had been sporterized. I got a good deal so I couldn't pass it up but I want it to have full length stocks and original parts on it. The barrel has not been cut down but the stock and front sights have been swapped. I took off the old front sights and am ordering some original ones later today but I was wondering how I would install them, I can't find any videos or info on it online.

It just slips on & is held in place via a roll pin.

I don't have a picture an im at work I'll get one when I'm home, but did the gun have a lif or something on the barrel originally? My barrel is just smooth all the way o the end. I don't understand how it goes on and will be accurate

Then it has been cut off, because it should have a key way in the barrel.

It has the key way. I'm new to the rifle and wasn't sure how everything works. I ordered the sight base but would I be able to put it on myself? How does it all hold together. I want to make sure it's sone properly. Thanks for the replies

Key goes in the slot, sight goes on the barrel, pin goes in the hole. you will need small brass hammer & punch, it`s that easy !.................

Thank you! I couldn't find it anywhere. Does the key have to be glued in place or what?

I got it now after seeing what the key and pin look like. Thanks for the help guys it's much more simple than I imagined. I haven't received the parts yet which is why I didn't understand how it worked. I saw a good picture of it and it makes sense now.
