I traded a Ruger .22 target pistol with red dot sight and a Ruger .45 P-90 for it.

Sounds like a helluva fine trade for you on that rifle Bear. Very nice indeed.

That's the same Sharps 45/70 used by Tom Selleck in them Quigley Down Under movies, yes?

It's identical to the rifle used by Tom Selleck in the Quigley movie except his was chambered in .45-110 and mine is in .45-70. I doubt I'll rechamber it to a longer cartridge.

My FFL has a repro .45-110 w/ Vernier sight. $850.00 NIB. It is real heavy! Great walnut.

Who is the manufacturer of your Sharps? Mine is a Pedersoli (Italian). Mine has the 32" octagon barrel as well. It is a very fine rifle. I shoot mine with Black Powder cartridges exclusively.

The Quigley actually has a 34" barrel.
