I can't speak for the equipment is being used or how good the eye sight is
with those that have responded
but I've used three different types of bore sighters in the past and none of
them were consistent or precise enough to take a scope from one rifle, put it
on another and be able zero it at 100 yards without a trip to the range and a
few rounds fired at 50 yards, same goes for a new scope/rifle combo
I also know of some range owners who will ask you to leave if they find out
you're just eyeballing down the barrel to set your scope and then trying to
shoot at 100 yards
the Cabela's mechanical bore sighter was the only one to come close to being
consistent and it would still give you different numbers just by removing and
replacing it in the same barrel after you had the scope set
I value the safety of others too much to assume these bore sights or the
eyeball can come close to 100 yard accuracy
old and out of production Tasco Scope Guide
muzzle mount laser, mine wasn't from Cabela's but it was the same type of
bore sight
