I was hoping that I'd never have to hear that phrase again.

the biggest bore rifle that you could easily carry around, I would look into a new england arms handi in .500 S&W.

Default Largest cal rifle

On a lighter NOTE, I recently purchased a new in the box Ruger mdl 77 in .350 Rem mag. The rifle has great ergonomics, easy to carry and packs a real punch for any North American Game and is adequate for the BIG bears also. Jeff Cooper used this caliber to hunt everything with.

I bought it for bear over bait and maybe one day an Alaskan coastal bear hunt, but mainly because I have always wanted one. I plan to put a low power 1.5X5X32 Weaver Grand Slam scope on it and work up some loads it likes to eat and see what happens.

Dan

The 700 NE is the largest hunting rifle out there today. I do believe H&H came out with it to replace the 600NE.

I laugh at packing a 240B I packed a Mk-19 now that was heavy.

The guy at the counter said it only kicked about as bad as a .223. It had some sort of reverse recoil venting on the end of the barrel that actually propels the rifle in a forward manner when shot. He said it sounds like shooting a cannon off when fired though. I guess the employees were allowed to try it out one day. It was a mean looking gun, but not one I would want to carry for a long distance.
Man I believe that is cheapest price that I have ever heard of for a .50 cal I wonder what was wrong with it

If you want to buy one try a .500 s&w handi rifle. Affordable (under $300) great to carry (7lbs) and will rearrange all of your teeth upon firing.

There is a guy in AZ that is making custom 20mm target rifles you can get them with or without a suppressor. It is just a tad heaiver than the 50bmg rifles out there.

So I will see your 700NE and raise you 20mm.
