Default kinda puzzled???

So I was wiping down my 700 today and happened to look inside the barrel around the crown and I noticed some rust. Thought to myself thats strange of all my guns this particular rifle gets the most attention. I clean with bore shine then a light coat of oil which of course I remove before I shoot the rifle again. None of my other rifles have this problem any ideas???

Assuming they are all stored in the same place with protection from moisture of some kind. I'd say try using break free clp. It has fantastic rust prevention. Not sure what's causing it. I was having issues with a 1911 that I had to pull out and clean every two weeks because of rust. I hit it with the clp and let it sit overnight then wiped it down and I haven't had an issue since.

Same here let the CLP soak for a long time... The can even says let it sit overnight... I had this with my 870 and 30-06... My room is humid in the summer since im in my base ment... If I leave the dehumidifier on for a few hrs my room will drop 20+ degrees down to the upper 50's even when it's 85 outside... If you keep them in a safe buy some of the salica packets... Think that's what they are called... The little things you find in shoes when u get them home from the store...

Oh and I run a light coat of mobile 1 5w-30 on my guns before I hang them... Just think of the wonderfull things oil does to your car!!! Will always prevent rust...

Put a sign in your front yard that reads "Gun Free House" & see where the criminals go.

How do you store it / them? Muzzle up? Muzzle down? In a safe? In a closet? Florida has been known to have high humidity, is your storage climate controlled?

I've been using CLP it stays in the bore till I shoot them, they are in a safe with a large container of silica, muzzle up, and in a air conditioned house. I dont know if I can do anything else.

Is there a big temp difference between inside the safe and out? Have you tried storing that one muzzle down? Puzzled myself.
