Default just got a new rossi 92 need help with rear sight

i got a lever action 92 rossi in 357 for my birthday yesterday and i went to sight it in i shot i at 50 yards. i only got to shot about 6 rounds and they were about 6 inches high then i moved the sight all the way up towards the front sight and it still shot the same my question is should i go back on the rear sight. Reason i didn't shot more is because they have a steel match and they use the pistol and 100 yrd rifle side of the range they hog it. Please help!

To shoot lower you lower the rear sight.
