Can't wait to set her up & shoot something. Have heard nothing but good things. Fluted bull barrel, Muzzlebreak, S/A and oversize bolt handle, AccuTrigger, Accustock, DBM, & Savage out of box accuracy. I'm psyched!

Can't wait to hear a report on it. I was looking at buying one myself. Hopefully you bought the .308 :) with 1:10 twist it should be a nice shooter.

I have the 10 Precision Carbine in 308 and they are a lot more accurate than I am. I had to turn up the trigger pull. I was locking up the trigger when I closed the bolt so be gentle with the bolt. The action screws have to be torqued to 40 inch pounds if you take it down.

Congrats. What caliber and what glass are you going to put on it?

CaptJim 11-27-2010 11:13 PM

whatever I can afford

Got a Nikon 4.5 - 14 w/BDC reticle I'm going to try. Can't afford something crazy, but this is I nice scope. Bright optics, I think it was around $300. Had it on my 22/250, but the BDC isn't at all useful in that caliber. I think it'll be more useful in .308.

JTJ what do you mean " I was locking up the trigger when I closed the bolt "

JTJ 11-28-2010 02:30 PM

That take up lever on the triger is a safety. If the gun gets jarred, it will lock up. You just need to lift the bolt handle and close to re set it. My 10 PC had the trigger set so light that closing the bolt too hard would lock the trigger. Read the funny book that came with it.

I like Nikons, they give real quality for the money.

Always been very pleased w/Nikon. I have a couple Luepolds (VX-3's) and they're great scopes, but unless you spend good money (2X the price of the Nikon) the lower end Luepolds aren't that great. I'd take a Nikon over a lower end Luepold any day. Just my .02 Got a 2 piece Weaver base & rings. I'll have to see how that works out. I'd like a quality 1 piece w/maybe 20 MOA but that's $$ I don't have right now. One thing at a time.

I understand gun work on a budget quite well. ;)

CaptJim,You should be very pleased with your 10FCP-K.If you handload your ammo,it should shoot very small groups.
If you want a good 1pc base,I will suggest going with a Ken Farrell.
