Crackshot, also known as the Model 26, rolling block single shot. The "32 short" is .32 short RIMFIRE. Made from 1912-1939. Values shown as $100 Poor, $200 Good, $400 Very Good. 18 or 20 inch BBl.

Stevens of Chicopee Falls, Mass, started in 1864. 1888 incorporated as J Stevens Arms and Tool Co, and in 1920 became part of Savage (Savage was at one time largest gun maker in US)

The only thing I can add to c3shooter is that they are a fairly sought after rifle. But unfortunately just the .22 caliber ones sell good. With the .25 and .32 rimfires it is about $1.50 to $2 per shot to shoot them.

If you are not interested in selling the gun or worried about sentimental value or anything like that. Have it rechambered for the 327 magnum round. You will have a bad ass little rifle then that will have some punch to it at more distance. You will have to get the firing pin changed to center fire. its not a difficult job really.

Plumber- that was originally a black powder rimfire round, using 9 grains of black powder. Are you suggesting to go from that to a .327 Magnum on just a rechamber? On a rolling block? The .327 has a higher operating pressure than a 44 magnum- 45,000 psi.

Default Stevens 32 Short

Need more information, such as, does it say "32 black powder rim fire" also does this rifle break open like a shotgun, or does it have a falling block type of action. does it have a round or octal barrel, how long is the barrel.

That is a Remington #4 rifle that has been re-barreled with a Stevens barrel. Stevens did not make a rolling block "Crack Shot" it was a drop block. Note there is no finger lever on your rifle. It has the Remington thumb latch on the right side. The caliber may have been up dated to a .32 CF?
