Default information hungry

Greetings to all firearms owners, shooters, repairers, collectors, etc.
Cutting to the chase, what are the advantages/disadvantages of center feed
over standard feed magazine boxes? I have a Rem. 700 VTR in .308 and am planning on installing an extended box and follower to allow longer handloads
to cycle properly (Wyatt's). Comments?

Perhaps a touch esoteric, but with a center feed, the cartridge is presented to the bolt in the exact same spot each time. A Left/right feed presents the a cartridge to a spot that alternates every other shot. Center feed may allow a better fine tuning of extractors, controlled feed, etc.

However, since I am an ignorant, unwashed heathen, I'll continue shooting my Garand, my SMLE and my SKS. None of which is center feed, and do not seem to have significant feed reliability issues.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!
