I can tell you if you can get a M&P sport you will be impressed with the accuracy in the rifle and the lower than all most all others cost. Real good solid shooter even with junk ammo. 600 dollar range around here new. You can buy the colt or psa dpms or,or, but if they don't go to war there not really mil-spec. And nothing under 1000 dollars will shoot as well aas the sport. Just might have to wait to get one.

I looked at conversion kits but went w/ a dedicated upper. Easier, cleaner, didn't want to use the same barrel as my 5.56.

Hey Mike, what company did ya go with and how much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking? I've been strongly thinking about getting a dedicated .22 upper for my AR too. It would probably be the only way I can go shooting without my better half (she doesn't like shooting small calibers, I've tried but she insists on it). Thanks for any info brother, greatly appreciated.

**Edited, sorry, messed up and left a sentence way out of wack.

@TooStrongTerry
One of the guys on the AR forum purchased a couple kits for his kids. Purehavoc is his name. Search his threads.
