as this is apparently a Rambo/Macgyver situation, id bring a minigun with 100,000 rounds with a handful of grenades and claymores. plus id go arnold in Predator on some mofos and start diggin traps and sh*t. plus id take the knife the indian dude had in that movie. that thing was awesome. hahah seriously if you were alone and doing this, no ammount of real things you had with you could help short of a gunship, you are retarded and would end up dead.

The OP was a simple yet rather undefined objective which seems to have turned into a major military assult. We don't usually call people retarted for their patricipation in a hypothetical. If you take that arrogance and fantacy world with you in a bag you won't have room or ability to carry much equipment. Semper Fi!

im being facetious and having fun with a hypothetical situation. thats like arguing that i couldnt punch god in the face cause im not that tall. if you dont think i dont really want to do and carry all that i did say, youve lost your sense of imagination my friend. and the situation is retarded. im sorry but thats the point of hypotheticals, to be retarded and have fun. hmmm, maybe i should go back and say sorry for all those zombie posts too.

here, as to not make anyone else upset, id take an AK since the ammo is familar and my usual 1911. id rather take claymores than hand grenades since its a bigger boom, easier for ambush situations, less assembly required. but above all else id bring friends. sniper team, fire support, hell, a distraction if needed. if i had to be alone it would come down more to tactics than what your are carrying. there, everyone happy? good, lets hold hands now.

The only thing better than one airship is two!!!

Only thing better than that is a tactical nuke!

I'm not sure many mercenaries have those at their disposal but, this is
open to whatever you feel like bringing with you. Point is, what would
you be willing to hoof in and hoof it out with.

I do like the Carlos Hathcock minimalist approach when he took the
Assassination of an NVA commanding general mission. I think I remember
him bringing a single canine of water for the 4 day mission. He might have
brought something to eat, but I can't remember.

I think I would trade my M4 for an AR-10 DPMS style rifle with a good scope.
Better to keep my distance. However it is a few ponds heavier than the M4.

Having access to a suppressed weapon, how much more of an advantage
would that give?

I would bring the Spikes M4 (4x30 scope) with 62 grain 5.56 - 10-30 round p-mags
Kimber 1911 4-10 round mags and a 7 in the gun.
3-M67s
GPS
Real Tree cammo
Condor 3-day pack
Front and back class IV plates
100 ft para cord
Knife, First Aid, 2 MREs, 3-lieter Camel Pack, Pocket Radio Scanner

QUESTION:
Why bring a sidearm at all? Ods are you aren't going to use it and the ammo. That could be 5 lbs more of 5.56 (or ammo of your choice)

Dteed4094: I though you were kidding with a sling shot. but that would be a great idea to cause a distraction.
ANSWER:
IMO,(but what do I know) the moment you start shooting, you lose.
The sidearm would be the only firearm I would bring. Once a booby trap is
tripped, in the terrain described, it would be helpful to have a sidearm
to discourage close pursuit.

For other members of the team, a LR rifle and maybe a shotgun might be in order...

therewolf, I agree.

If it is 3 on 6 and you do get the drop on them with your guns, you'll still need to get the other 3.

So a distraction and some confusion is in order. Only what to distract and confuse with?

Oh, there are only six?

I thought the original parameter was patrols of four to six.

Information for a loadout is key here. Is it 6, 12, 24, 48 bogeys?
