Your rifle also does not have the recoil. IMHO a cold bore shot is the most important. Antisipating recoil or flinching is even more critical w/ what the OP is shooting. Maybe a .308 would help him. I would like to see a pic of the rig though.

Yeah that was a off the bench, I just found out that it wasn't shooting very good because the adjuster knob for left and right blew off. But I'm 6'2" and 245 pounds. The recoil doesn't phase me at all. I'm sure 20 years down the road it wouldn't help but now it is fine.

That is not for the caliber in question.

My point exactly. Firing a high recoiling cartridge like the .338 WinMag at a groundhog 1000 yards away??? Really??? 300 yards with a .204, .223 or .22-250..... yes. All day everyday. If you can hit a groundhog at 1000 yards with a .338 WinMag you belong in the record books. If you claim it's mainly the custom rifle, then this guy needs to patent his product and make a gold mine.

Whether this guy is telling a tale or the truth is not up to me to decide. Regardless, use the right tool for the right job. The .338 WinMag is not for groundhogs or whitetails. Kinda like driving nails with a 10lbs sledge... I guess you can make it work, but your finished product is a mess.

Ground hogs don't spook as easily as deer. Atleast in somerset. You can get like 2 and 3 shots off at a ground hog from that distance. But I've used my gun on groundhogs only a few times. I use my uncles 22-250 that Harry also built. My uncles furthest hit on a groundhog was just shy of 1200 yards. He shot 4 times to hit it.

Not including the man that owns the property and hunts with us.
So is it the first shot or the fourth? Tale or truth... keep your story consistent. Setup your gallon jug at 1200 yards and make a video of you, your rifle, and your one shot kill. Upload it to youtube... I'd love to see it. I'm from Missouri.... Show Me.

The Sheet of BS you posted. That is more like .223, .243 ballistics.

Rothey, please cut your losses and change the subject.

It would be a luck shot to hit a 55 gallon oil drum at 1,200 yds with the 22-250 much less see the whistle-pig.

You keep stirring the pot with this story and it's getting old.

I'm calling troll and asking you to cease and desist with your super shot stories.

And the rest of you mooks, stop feeding the troll!
