I've fired one on a porcupine. It was pretty messy. I liked the gun and it handled nice, but it's not on my shopping list, I just don't have a niche for it ( although most of my guns are nicheless). I'd recommend getting the wooden stocked variety. I personally don't dig the tacticool version.

Same here. All these new black, "tacticool" guns look like crap to me. If I ever get an AR, I'm sure as hell not slapping 15 rails on it, with 3 sights, a laser, and two flashlights. I prefer wood and steel

Yeah, Im not in the tactical crowd or traditionalist crowd. I honestly could shoot a Brown Bess or an AR and still love very second of it.

Now I'm not strictly wood furniture guns, I like some with modern looks (like the desert eagle, the Uzi, etc.), but I can't stand how people get a new gun and immediately slap rails all over it and a scope. I have seen a picture of a .30-30 Winchester lever action with rails, a red dot, and a flashlight. Poor gun...

I Know right! The thing served people fine for over 106 years! Now mossberg beets to tacticalize it. Too bad.
