Howa 1500 30'06 rifle
I wanted some info on this rifle beause i recently put one on lay away at a pawn shop... I got it for $375, and its in great condition. I would like to know if i got a good deal on it? And also what class of a rifle it is... So far ive read nothing but good reviews about it. So thanks for the comments!

My dad has the smith and wesson 1500. Same exact rifle. I have shot it Around 60 times, comfortable, smooth, accurate is my experience. It's 30-06 as well, his has beautiful wood too. I think you did alright.

I own a Howa 1500 300 WM. Accurate to over 700 yards--so far.

For a "cheap" or "throwaway" gun, they are really good rifles.

I have broken the bolt stop screw a few times. Kind of a cheap chinsy little design on an otherwise really good action. They can be hard to get replacement parts for. But if you have a buddy with a weatherby vanguard, you can use their serial number to get parts from weatherby-- much better to deal with than Legacy Sports International. (They import Howa.)

What does the howa 1500 cost new? Just a ballpark of what this rifle would cost new?

I picked mine up with a nikko sterling scope for $500. Mine has the hogue over mould stock. Like I says, really not a bad deal at all.

Well then it sounds like I got a pretty good deal, thanks for the info..... Cant wait to put some lead down range.

Do you have a scope on it yet? They can be knuckle busters with that high bolt lift.

Yea it already has a bushnell scope

Does it smash your fingers when you lift the bolt. That was why I didnt buy one I hope yours doesn't though.
