I removed the broken latch from a Remington 591 and need help installing new one?

the latch I'm referring to is the little spring that pulls the cartridge out far enough for the extractor to catch it. I have been a gunsmith for fifty years but never encountered one of these and can't figure out how to get it in without ruining it or the bolt head. hoping someone else has done this. thanks.
