...Can't get what I want living in the woods, so I started making just what I want. I reload and keep on hand enough supplies to make at least 1,000 rounds of .380 / 9mm / 40SW / 30-30 / 45acp / and stock pile 2,000 rounds at least of .22lr

Default How much is enough?

I don't know I haven't got there yet. I reload almost daily. I will keep going until I run out of primers or powder or cases or bullets or money. I have at least 1500 223 and 1100 9mm. I am a little lax on 380 only have 200. 22 a couple of bricks plus loose boxes, I would say 1200 or so. 30-30 300, 270 about the same. .17 hmr 400. That about covers it. I do go to the range every weekend and shoot a hundred or so rounds depending on what I am shooting with, so I have to reload to keep up with my habit.

You may have heard that they busted a guy in California with over 1 million rounds. They wanted a psycological workup on him. In Texas we would call him a good hunting buddy.

1 month supply or 1yr supply is very vague, If I shoot like I used to long time ago, 1 month supply would be around 1000rnds, now 1 month supply would be around 200rnds and my buddy's 1 yr supply would be 50 rnds (for qualifying).

According to my Wife: Too much!

According to Me: Not enough!

About a 6 month Supply of four different calibers. If I find it locally On Sale, I'll usually pick up a few extra boxes.

Anyone seen the Winchester Wood Box 22LR Boxes at Walley World? It's got a 500 Rnd Brick inside. Going price at most Walley Worlds in my area, was $24.97 a Box. My local neighborhood Walley World's Sporting Goods Manager, said they were taking up too much space, so he knocked the price down to $14.97 a Box. I picked up 10 Boxes, at the $14.97 price.

Cheers!

BB

Default how much ammo stocked

I keep about 500-1000 rounds for the calibers I shoot the most. I have 17 different calibers. Some I keep 100, some 50.

I'd "Like" to have about 1000 rounds for each of my various firearms on hand.
Just about there in 9mm

If an emergency were ever declared, your ability to obtain ammunition would be gone instantly.

Hmmm.....didn't the White House demand that they be given a switch to take over all radio stations directly from the White House not long ago? Remember that "test" a few months back where all radio stations went silent for 3 minutes?
