I'm really surprised that the averages here are so low. Then again its not something one discusses much openly.

Putting this in perspective, competitors in various disciplines often surpass the 50k round/year mark.

Am I an ammo horder? Does that seem excessive?

What's your ammo stock look like ?
Will you be able to restock after the Zombie uprising, or when the government tries to stop new sales under the 'emergency' whatever it might be?

I have a few thousands rounds of .22 and a box or so of every other round I have a gun for.

Seriously...if you have no fears of our government, then one can always restock. If you oddly enough, do not trust our fine government, then more, a lot more, might be in order.

Very true...I will decide in October how much might be needed.

None. I don't have the room to stock pile it. I keep maybe a couple of boxes of reloads for each rifle I have.

I keep enough on hand to spend an enjoyable session at the range for whatever I choose to take. Since I shoot at the range what I carry for defense, I'm prepared for those alimentary discharge striking the wind circulation device days.

With these prices, I shoot almost all I can stock in a few sessions, these ammo prices are killing me.

Long ago when ammo was pseudo cheap, I had over 2k each cal I owned, to get to that level again I would have to stop shooting for months.........

The other day I stocked for a 1 day 3gun practice and I spent $200.00 on ammo, only took back home a few rnds.

Does it go bad? Does it lose value? Wouldn't it be like blue chip stock, buy as much as you can afford until you feel comfortable?

I can load all of my magazines a few times.

these are all guesses

9 mm - 500
.45 - 250
.223 - 400
.308 - 300
.458 socom - 50
.22 lr - 200 (should get lot more)
12 Ga Slug/00 buck - 100

feels like i don't have enough but if you add them up that's nearly 1800 rounds for defense.
I think if SHTF, i probably wouldn't need much more than 200 any anything bigger than 22 LR.
