I can make 200 yard shots with my shotgun. I have a rifled barrel and I use sabots that cost $2 each. 75 yards is the max I can consistently shoot 4" groups with rifled slugs. You really can't shoot a 1" group with a shotgun. The holes in the target are very large. A 2" group with a shotgun is putting every slug in the same hole.
