My first tier self defense gun is a 45ACP. Practically any 45ACP will do.

My second tier self defense gun is a 12 gauge high capacity shotgun. There are two good ones -- the Remington and the Mossberg.

My third tier self defense gun is a Ruger Mini 14 Ranch -- 5.56x45mm.

My fourth tier self defense gun is a Remington Model 700 in 300 RUM -- a great long range scoped rifle. Also my primary hunting rifle as well.

My next gun will likely be a Walther 380.

sorry but long range isn't considered self defence, but would be murder.

promoting illegal activity is not allowed here in the forum.

this is a thread about SD not SHTF.

Self defense? Obviously he was talking short range when he listed off a handgun and a shotgun first. Even his Remington could be used in that role! Just not very effectively at all. Nowhere did he say "long range".

Dear Christ who in the hell would use a 300 RUM for anything other than long range.

I think you should reread the tier four section. ......Remington 700 rum... A great long distance rifle.....

What dose it mean if the first thing I thought when I saw the title of the thread was: "Yes"

Personally, I like 12ga for home goblin removal. My wife and I differ on Pump Action or Semi Auto here, I have a Mossberg 930 and I got her a Remington 870 Nitro Tactical. She wants to scare the Goblins off by clambering a round while if I am going to point my 930 at someone more likely then not I will end up shooting them, and all the warning at that point I want to give is the soft click that the safety makes.

The only problem I have with threat discrimination is that there are 5 kids ranging from their 20's to mid teens running in and out of the house as well as their friends. so I have lots of people coming and going from the house at all hours. The kids know and have let their fiends know that if Mom or Dad come steaming out of the bedroom armed that everybody had better hit the floor right the eff now!

OK calm down. I didn't mean to create a situation. I apologize.

God could you imagine the noise and flash especially in a small room and with a brake on the rifle.
