Quality adult air rifles make excellent small game rifles (squirrels and rabbit). Likewise, they make for excellent target practice arms, cheap to shoot and can even be shot indoors at home.

I like spring piston guns the best although the new gas piston guns are supposed to be good, too. I'd avoid the much more expensive and complex PCP (pre-charged pneumatic) guns unless you get really into air guns.
