Sign up on the Savage shooters forum and look up Jim Briggs at Northland Shooter's supply (He has a forum section dedicated to NSS). He usually has the Stevens 200 action for sale by itself. He also has take-off stocks, parts, barrels, etc. Probably your best bet.
There's DIY threads on changing the trigger spring/wire to a different diameter to reduce the pull weight on the stock trigger (Don't know if that applied to Stevens trigger or just the Accu-trigger).
If you're worried about chopping up your Remington, get a new bolt from PT&G. Make your Remington a switch bolt/barrel rifle.
