Have you ever had a gun stolen?
I personally have not thank god but my dad has had multiple guns stolen from him Even his first gun a model 60(a family tradition, my dads first aswell as mine and my brothers) givin to him by his father who has passed away, and a a colt 22. single action he had just recieved for christmas when he was about my age

Nope, not yet. I don't have a safe yet, so I resort to hiding all my guns around the house. I don't have kids yet and my 22 y/o wife shoots with me so I don't have to worry about a little one finding the "heat" and getting hurt.

Then you must live in the "hood", because it seems like the nice areas get hit with burglary. Who wants to steal crap, when you can steal nice stuff?!?
I know people who HAVE stolen firearms. Not friends of mine, but it's crazy what teenagers plan and do. I would've turned them in, if they hadn't already been caught for it...

Yes I have.
I have had a Smith Model 17 K-22 revolver stolen, a Ruger M77 VT 220 Swift with Weaver K-10 10x scope Jewell trigger, and a Marlin lever gun in 38-40.
Now I have a gunsafe. and everything get locked up.

Too many firearms get stolen
For many years I have advocated access to the National Law Enforcement Stolen weapons data base. Many of us who are not firearms dealers sell or trade firearms from time to time, and we would never knowingly buy or trade a stolen frirearm.
We don't need the name or address from where the weapon was stolen, but a simple list with serial number AND A LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTACT NUMBER so we could turn in those few weapons that we run across that were stolen.
It has happened to me - many years ago I had S&W Model 59 9 mm pistol stolen.
Many years later, I traded for a Colt .357 trooper revolver, only to later discover it was stolen from a nearby town. I was glad to let the police return it to it's rightful owner, but I was out the $250 I had invested in the trade firearm. Sure I could have sued the man I got it from, but he had taken it in on trade from a relative who was the true bad guy. The good news was that the owner got his gun back and a bad guy went to jail.
How nice it would have been to check out that gun in a National data base!

If another "Assault Weapon" ban is implemented, all of my AR's WILL be stolen!
