check out the load data books. plenty of good loads for the 25-06. can't really recommend a particular load because every rifle is different.

The lighter the bullet weight you go, the faster the loads can be. If you can go as light as 87 grains (normally considered varmint loads) you can find data for some very fast loads.

Understood! Have some nosler and Barnes books. Will look into it. Going to go with nosler partitions and see how she does. Going to break the gun in with factory Winchester cxp2. Weatherby guarantees a 1.5" group @ 100. Will see how that does first.

My 25/06 loves to shoot Sierra 100gr Gameking/Matchking,and Nosler C/T Ballistic Silvertip 115gr bullets. I have the best results using Reloader 19 & 22 powders, but H4350,H4831,and IMR 4350 powders work pretty good also.

It shoots the Noslers around 1/4 moa all day long.

Every .25-06 I have ever seen will shoot ANY load very well. I load only 117-120 gr bullets and prefer H4831SC. About 1 - 1 1/2 gr under max seems to be the "sweet spot".

When I had my .25-06 years ago, it really liked 100 grain Hornadys and H4831.

My dad has a rem 700 25-06. He shoots factory rem ammo. He shoots a 3" group @ 500. Quite impressive... for factory rounds.

If he shoots 3" groups at 500 yards with a stock Remington 700 25/06 with factory ammo,he's got to be one of the best marksmen in the world.

There aren't that many guy's that shoot custom built benchrest rifles shooting custom handloads that can shoot that good. That's just a little over 1/2 MOA for that distance!
He better start entering a bunch of shooting competitions with that rifle, and ammo.

I'm not saying that it couldn't happen, but I would have to see it done to believe it.

Its hard to process. But I have seen him do it several times. It all started when he shot a hog at 450, then another a 498. After that he began to take his shooting very serious. He is a very exclent marksmen.
