Default Half stripped receiver threads On my Ruger 1022

Don't know how I did it but when I took the scope off today to tighten it so it wouldn't wobble i decided to do a full cleaning of the firearm After all that was done and started to put the scope rings back on I noticed one of the screws wouldn't tighten Upon further inspection I found out that It was stripped halfway down Just curious how much a gunsmith would charge me to fix this

found out

These were custom scope rings designed to allow you to see the iron sites even with the scope on it And they screw Directly into the receiver

Pretty cheap -- there's nothing much to it. Gotta drill the "custom" (common see-thru) scope mount to match. Could do it all yourself with a cheap tap if ya knew how...

Taps are dirt cheap. Really easy to do!!

If you want to replace them...
