It's pretty easy to see why you don't recommend it.
Did you ever get it fixed?

I will never own a kimber

Their CS sucks
Their QC sucks
They are overpriced for the actual quality and support that you get

There are a lot of guns that I don't really care for and would never buy, but I can't think of any gun that I wouldn't own if it were free (unless it was just a rusted piece of junk). I don't care for Nazi stuff either, but I love old German guns. Fortunately most of them were around long before the Nazi's.

Lugers creep me out. I associate them with officers and the SS. And yes, I know that that is more Hollywood as they were replaced by P08s in WWII. They bother me so much I wont buy a Ruger Mk .22. They look too Lugerish with the tapered barrel.
I do have a 22/45 slabside that I love. Its grip angle and straight barrel gives them a different silhouette.

Arisaka, I wouldn't give a nickel for a crate of them. I refuse to own one, and don't even want to touch a Jap bayonet. I study history as a hobby and my grandfather served in the war so that makes it more personal. I'm not a bit racist, but I still find it hard to let go. I watched a program on TV, where a Japanese officer (did not serve in WWII, served afterward) said that you couldn't blame the Imperial soldiers for what they did because the officers treated them as if they were less than human, so it was understandable to treat "the enemy" worse. Don't mean to offend but, it is what it is.

The federal government hasnt bailed out any gun makers yet, have they?
In that unlikely event, that would cinch it for me.

Just an F.Y.I. a Luger is a P.08, the P-38 replaced the Luger. I love the Luger/Mk grip angel myself.
